The unfiltered or "white" styles all scored quite well, something which can not be said for the clear beers, with Germany's Hacker Pschorr coming out on top. more...

Local alt-rockers King Nancy manage to squeeze really melodic hooks into an otherwise thick layer of buzzing guitars and crashing drums. A careful blend of catchy choruses and beefy, hard hitting verses frame this tight band's agenda to rock out.
Advance tickets are available for this show on Friday July 18 with Elvyn and Silent C.
Plotting a course for alternative pop, Jonathan Seet has been making waves uncovering the pop gems from within. Reflecting on a brit-pop aesthetic without succumbing to cliché Seet pens haunting and bittersweet tunes ranging in scope from tense and edgy to vulnerable and intimate.
Advance tickets are available for this Saturday July 19 show with Mia Sheard. Advance tickets holders for this show will receive a free copy of our latest compilation cd Local Flavour 2003 featuring the song Dirty Glass by Jonathan Seet.
Toronto native turned Montrealer singer songwriter Rennan built a strong rep on her 1998 debut self titled CD that gave the retro brit-pop sound a face lift with healthy amounts of volume and grit.
Her follow up replaces the crunchy guitar riffs and driving beats in favour of a more stipped back approach. The tunes on 2002's Taken With You support the catchy melodies and bittersweet lyrics with lush textures, mellow keyboard pads and overall chilled vibe.
Advance tickets are available for Renann's next show with Katie Griffin on Wednesday July 23.

His sights squarely focused, PHATT al (an acronym for: People Having A Terrific Time always) is reintroducing live, innovative hip-hop to an industry complacent in its acceptance of mediocrity.
Throughout his native Toronto, al rips lyrical and "musical homicide" in venue after venue, reviving the spirit of a by-gone era, when hip-hop was all about rhymes wreaking havoc on even the most seasoned party goers sensibilities.
Making a name for himself with such bands as Len, jackSOUL, bangra innovators Punjabi By Nature and rap metal head bangers Raggadeath, PHATT al has proven himself as an underground leader on the T.O. MC scene.
You can catch him on Thursday July 24 with One By Opinion backed up by the band The Starving Artists. Advance tickets are available.
