We celebrated the beginning of our eighteenth year in business on Sunday February 13. The couple of hundred people who dropped by walked away with a loot bag and an invitation to enter a trivia contest. Our generous spirit has prompted us to extend this opportunity to all of our e-news subscribers. The fact that there are still no entries submitted has little to do with this decision.. Trivia Contest Answer these five questions and you will be eligible to win one of our grand prizes*: *Send your entries to webmaster@cestwhat.com. Each correct answer gives you a chance to win two tickets to our Irish Whisky Tasting on Wednesday March 16 or admission and dinner for two to our Spring Festival Of Small Breweries on Friday April 15. You can find the answers to all of these questions on our website. Dont be shy, all entries will win something. A month has passed since we wrote to our M.P.P., the Minister Of Health, about Bill 164 The Smoke Free Ontario Act. If the bill is passed without ammendment it will threaten the detente that we have fashioned between smokers and non-smokers, not to mention the tens of thousands of dollars we have invested in our smoking room. The Minister has not responded to our concerns, but, perhaps he will to yours. If you like what we have done to protect non-smokers from the evils of tobacco please let Mr. Smitherman know by e-mailing him a quick note. Our next foray into the world of fine spirits will be a St. Patrick's Day warm-up on Wednesday March 16 featuring premium Irish whiskies including a number of single malts. More info and tickets are available online. Our 15th Festival Of Small Breweries was observed by hundreds of beer lovers amid the dust of ongoing renovations on Friday November 7, 2003. Now fifteen months later we have the results pulled together (we've been busy!). Next month we may even have the results from the 2004 Festival ready. Best Of The Festival for the fourth time in five years was the St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout finishing with a median score of 41 out of 50. We may as well give McAuslan a lifetime achievement award, disqualify their Oatmeal Stout from further competition, and give all of the other brewers out there a chance for glory. A full analysis and table of results is available here. Year after year our local brewers prove their mettle before the critical masses of beer geeks and weekend warriors that make this festival an annual success. Cheers! You probably already know that C'est What is a hot spot, but did you know that we are now a "hotspot" as well? Bring in a wireless gadget and connect with someone over a beer. It's more comfortable down here than at the office. What's Next on Internet Radio What's Next Radio broadcasts over the Internet 24/7 featuring an eclectic mix of local performers' recorded material as well as every show live from our stage.
