Al Tuck
Born and raised on PEI, Al's reputation as a gifted, hardworking musician arose in the midst of his fellow Halifax musician's fame as pop masters. His first two CDs with band Al Tuck and No Action, Arhoolie and Brave Lasts Days, elevated Al to cult status in the 90s when most people were listening bands like Nirvana. Al's old-time sound didn't find a home in popular culture, but he kept working and when his third CD New High Road of Song was released it was hailed by critics as his best, most cohesive to date. Since then Al has been working hard to overcome life's challenges like loosing everything he owned in a house fire by writing new music, recording and playing as many stages as he can across Canada. In 2002 he independently released Live at the Rebecca Cohn and is now set to release his much anticipated fourth studio release in March of 2005.
