Amy Campbell Defiant and vulnerable, Amy Campbell brings together classical training and folk sensibilities to create music that reaches into human experience and comes back with stories written from the soul. Her voice strong and conversational, her lyrics allow listeners to relive their own losses through the cushion of distance. After years with a band, she has released her debut solo album Architecture: Live At The Opera House through her own label BattleAxe Folk. Compelling and raw live performances, her songs are 95% guaranteed to break your heart.
With a strong following that voted her best local female solo artist in Halifax's Reverb Magazine, Campbell has been playing regularly across Nova Scotia for several years, from the smokybasement of Hell's Kitchen, to the Stan Rogers Folk Festival. She has fit nicely onto stages with Bruce Cockburn, Jann Arden, Lennie Gallant, and Ember Swift. Campbell has just finished a Maritime tour with fellow songwriter Emm Gryner and a month-long tour of Ontario, Quebec, and the eastern United States, including Ladyfest East in New York; and an appearance as the special guest to The Scrappy Bitch Tour at the Halifax Pop Explosion.
