Lee Kim

Biography - By Lisa Donovan

Of the many artists to burst into the music scene, none have the combination of talent and unique look of Lee Kim. A singer/songwriter of Korean-Canadian decent, Lee is driven by the notion that no other pop artist within the Asian community has come to the forefront in North America. However, he possesses a sound and image that has the potential to attract fans and audiences worldwide.

Lee's introduction to the world of singing and performing pop music started with his first band, an experience that also led to the writing of his first set of songs. These experiences allowed him to perform in a number of well-known venues around his hometown of Toronto, Canada, including Nathan Phillips Square and the legendary blues bar, the Silver Dollar.

It is hard not to be drawn immediately to the velvety texture of his voice and simplicity of his melodies. Complimented with the organic sounds of the acoustic guitar, a combination of live and looped drums, bass and synthsizers, he has created a unique and fresh pop sound, one that is obvious in his four-song demo.

Lee has spent the past few years developing his songwriting talents. Recently he has been working with several of Canada's well-respected names. That includes Bruce Dies (Ozzy Osborne, Lee Aaron, Lisa Dalbello) and producer/engineers Scott Lake and Eric Ratz, who between them have worked with Enrique Iglesias, Big Sugar, Keith Richards, New Meanies and Maestro. He is currently marketing his material to the music industry, with the goal of releasing a debut album by the end of the year. Both his music and look are sure to give music fans around the world something new and exciting.
