Longfield
Conceived
in a dingy Northern European pub, Longfield have come
several thousand miles from their out-of-place beginnings.
Using their brit-pop influences to provide a backdrop on
which to paint their own musical landscapes, the band has
definitely found their niche.
Combining
youthful energy and a keen sense of pop composition,
Longfield kick out hook laden power pop with a modern flair.
Pushing the envelope with their live performances, and
coming close to going over the top, the music keeps the the
band grounded.
With
a honed grasp on the construction of pop music that recalls
the sounds of Radiohead, the band seems comfortable
in their direction as they await their soon to be released
full length cd This Is... Longfield.
In
the end it's Longfield's strong songwriting and catchy
melodic harmonies fronting crunchy guitars and lean grooves
