Monday Rose Monday Rose Short Biography:
A lover’s caress mixed with powerful guitars and intricate lyrics. Smooth vocals rise up and down, sending shivers down your spine as your heart keeps time to the drums. Welcome to the world of Monday Rose, a band who creates timeless songs that take over hearts one at a time. Theirs is a world of contradictions to dream to and most of all, to fall in love by.
The name Monday Rose stems from the word Montrose, the boat on which ARi's great grandfather arrived upon his escape from Nazi Poland. The name symbolizes daring decisions, conquering a fear of the unknown, awareness of one's surroundings, and refusing to be brought down by the people who want to bring you down the most. It is a name that represents standing strong and sticking to your beliefs. It is a name that represents never forgetting where you came from, and not being afraid to say “this is not right”. It is about integrity and good will, passion and bravery, and most importantly, it is a name that represents survival.
Monday Rose began with passion and was touched by fate. Lead singer/ lyricist ARi Lyon had a love affair with music that he was compelled to follow through. Out of curiosity for how far he could take some of his songs, ARi recorded his first demo, began playing shows and quickly started gaining fan recognition around the city.
One year later ARi met Randy Starr (guitars, vocals) through a mutual friend. Equally astonished by each other’s originality and passion, the two quickly began to play together. Inviting Starr’s lifelong friend Jeff Berg (drums, percussion) to a gig in January 2008, the three played together for the first time on stage. Now, wherever Monday Rose performs, they gain recognition, respect and popularity.
The band is currently releasing their first EP, a record which carries a huge buzz for their fans and has been lucky enough to record in the legendary Bob Ezrin’s (Pink Floyd, KISS, Alice Cooper, Nine Inch Nails,) recording studio with his partner and friend, Brian Moncarz (The Junction – Universal Music, Rise Electric – EMI Publishing, Pilot Speed – Maple Music).
An ordinary week starts with Monday. An extraordinary life starts with Monday Rose.
Come join the lovers...
