Nana JokuraToronto born singer/songwriter/composer Nana Jokura'selectronica influenced production stretches and morphs the boundaries of pop.
She has immersed herself in the studio where she has taken production into her own hands, allowing for more specific artistic precision, she is described as "sultry" and "honest".
Her vocals are complimented with deep grooves and trip hop, drum & bass elements nspired by Bjork, Sade and her mother. Her music infects the listener, inspiring dance and movement, as much as soul searching and introspection.
Jokura has just produced her first CD titled "Nothing To Lose" (Gatcha-Gatcha Music) from which a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Wellspring - a community resource for cancer patients, their families and loved ones. The title track was written while her mother was in the hospital and completed shortly after she passed.
As a graduate and full scholarship winner of Berklee College of Music where she majored in songwriting her music has also caught the ears of the film and commercial industry leading to opportunities for work as a composer and producer for Thinkmusic. She has written the score for an art film "Voila" by Toronto director Ryan J. Noth and collaborated with singer/songwriter Tony Kosinec for a film by Ottawa director Amanda Sage.
It'ss no wonder her music has made an impact for film as the textured melodic lines abd trippy-cool beats would do well to compliment as a soundtrack.
