Shauna Major

Shauna Major, an independent singer-songwriter of the past ten years, and originally native to Sault Ste. Marie (Northern Ontario, Canada), lives and performs today in what has come to be known as “the deep dark heart” of Toronto’s mysterious and bohemian Kensington Market.

This extraordinary ‘clear soprano’, seeking personal truths in her process as a singer, songwriter and performer, is best known for her active involvement in community causes and events, for the ‘wry etherealness’ captured in her poetic songwriting, and for the up-close and personal moments while gigging.

With ‘woodsy overtones’ and heartfelt reckoning, she weaves ballad after ballad into an eerie and imagistic world around herself, enticing the audience to accompany her on a journey through sound and song, comedy and truth ...
