Local singer-songwriter Steve Singh has come up strong with his own version of a songwriters-in-the-round format called Therapy Sessions. The idea is you get four solo songwriters on the stage at the same time and trade riffs, stories, jokes, hints at global stardom and eventually lots of music as the intimate and stripped down setting reveals what makes the artists tick musically. Singh's songwriting combines his personal nararatives in a Costelloesque vibe with catchy word-play and hooky refrains atop some inventive guitar work. Up close and personal is the order of the day for the Therapy Sessions as Steve welcomes some of the city's finest local talent to join him onstage for an evening of acoustic alt pop, twang, lounge, grunge, funk and anything else you can do with a guitar.
