 The GearsThe band formerly know as Surface To Sound has undergone a line up change, a name change and changed their musical direction.Now known to the public at large as The Gears the lads have shed the funk jam band aesthetic in favour a far more visceral, in your face beat driven electronic-pop vibe. Incorporating a back line of DJ/sampler "technition" in lieu of bass and drums with a double threat guitar vocal at the front, The Gears delve into a new wave of hooky choruses driven by chunky beats and crunchy guitars. A definite about face from the days as STS, the band are swiftly wooing unsuspecting onlookers as they gather momentum dropping the perfect beat and hunting down the fine balance between aggressive art rock and radio friendly hooks. |
