Wayne
Omaha is not a person. Although the name may
suggest otherwise, it is in fact the name of a very
eclectic and original bunch of
musicians. They
manage to combine two keyboards, two bass guitars,
two electric guitars and drums into a sound where
jagged melodies don't hold the band back from
leting go and rocking out with compositions that
range in scope from all out jams to more structured
groovy drones. Their bitter-sweet pop sensibility
is primed with a good dose of moody trips to the
psychedelic as they shift between hard riffs and
thoughtful phrasing with ease and
finesse. Wayne
Omaha is proof that an anarchic stew of musical
ideas can co-exist. A tribute to both the eclectic
and the familiar, this band draws on influences
from far and wide to create a very catchy and
interesting flavour of something loosely called
pop. Friday
